The crazy thing about ideas, is that they can come at anytime; I mean, ANYTIME! You could be having a shower, and you’d have to rush out, dripping wet, just to write something down so that you don’t forget it. That is how insane it is. I have made a list of 6 accessories to assist you in trapping these spur-of-the-moment ideas. They are:
1. Memo App
This application comes preinstalled on every phone. As a writer, it should be among your most used applications because of how beneficial it is to your writing. It can be used to quickly jot down urgent pointers that you can expatiate in your own time.
2. Recorder
The recorder is another useful application that comes preinstalled on smartphones. Unlike the Memo app, is for more detailed pointers. Sometimes, ideas come at a rush and if they are not documented immediately, poof! they’ll disappear. You can quickly use this app to record the ideas as they come. They do not necessarily need to be arranged. Just record them as fast as you can, or else you’ll forget. Later, you can listen to the voicenote, reconstruct the sentences and work on the ideas.
3. Pen and Jotter
You need this at all times. There are jotters small enough to fit in your pocket. These objects are very helpful for when you aren’t with your phone, or when your phone battery dies. You can write down your thoughts and save them for later.
4. Dictionary
Do you know how essential air is for survival? Well, a dictionary is a writer’s air. It is one of the most important writing accessories, and a must-have.
5. OkadaBooks App
Reading helps writers improve. The OkadaBooks app has thousands of books on absolutely everything. The weight of big bulky books have been lifted off your shoulders and replaced with a feather-light library right inside your phone. The app is available for download on Google Play Store and Apple Store
6. Your Head
This is where all the magic happens. Your head is the headquarters of your creativity. So, do not leave home without it.
