Akwaeke Emezi, the talented novelist and author of Bestsellers Freshwater, Pet and The death of Vivek Oji made the announcement via their Instagram handle earlier this weekend. Breaking the news, they said, “Utterly delighted to announce that my poetry debut currently titled CONTENT WARNING: EVERYTHING is forthcoming from @copper_canyon_press in 2022!!!”
In a bid to include more perspective to the announcement and why everyone should be as excited as they are, they added, “before my novels, I actually started as a poet studying at @cavecanempoets, so this collection of poems spans over ten years.”
Ten years is a really long time to add perfecting touches to a body of work. We’re excited for what Akwaeke Emezi has cooking and can’t wait to get our hands on it come 2022.
