Call For Submissions For The 2020 Nigeria Prize For Literature, Literary Criticism, and Science

Entries are hereby invited for The Nigeria Prizes for Literature, Literary Criticism, and Science. The yearly prizes, all sponsored by the Nigeria LNG (NLNG), are renowned for honoring individuals who have made meaningful contributions in the advancement of Literature, Literary Criticism, and Science, respectively, in Nigeria.

The Prize for Literature seeks to honor the author of the best book by a Nigerian within the last four years. The prize rotates among four literary genres- Prose Fiction, Poetry, Drama and Children’s Literature. This year, the competition is for Prose Fiction. It carries a reward of $100,000 and is open to only Nigerian writers irrespective of residence.

To encourage Literary Criticism, the advisory board of The Nigerian Prize for Literature will reward one critic with N1,000,000. The aim is to promote Nigerian literature in the world, so special consideration will be given to critical essays on new writings in Nigerian Literature.

The Prize for Science ($100,000) will be awarded to a scientist(s) who proffers scientific solution to a prescribed problem for which Nigeria benefits. The theme for this year is Innovation in Sustainable Food Security.
