Black Friday – The biggest sales event of the year is almost upon us and you, too, can be a part of it. Yes, YOU.
If you’ve been feeling extra-charitable and wondering how you can heed the calls of your fans and run a giveaway, this Black Friday event is a great opportunity to slash prices off your book(s); even if you weren’t feeling so benevolent, it’s still a great time to jump on the bandwagon, slash prices, and attract new readers to your craft, which will result in more book sales. Either way, it’s a win-win from how I see it.
In five easy steps, here’s how you can leverage this year’s Black Friday to Boost Your Book Sales.
1. Slash prices off your books
What’s a Black Friday event without discounts? Take a large chunk off your book prices and watch as grateful readers troop in to splurge on your books for themselves and their loved ones.
2. Make catchy announcements on your Social Media handles
Your Instagram page can do much more for you than just hosting beautiful pictures of yourself at fancy locations. A simple post of your book cover with a catchy caption announcing your discount sale on OkadaBooks will do the trick. If you can design a fancy flyer for the post, that’s even better.
3. Let your review do the speaking
Chioma isn’t the only one that needs assurance, I know I do too. And so does (almost) everyone else. What better way to show assurance of quality to prospective readers than by sharing existing reviews for your book(s)? This is one simple trick many writers don’t know. Hurray! Now you do. If you’ve received awesome reviews on your book(s), in the past, let them do the bulk work of convincing new readers for you.
4. Word of mouth still works wonders.
Some call it the old school method, I call it the old trick that keeps on giving. Talk to friends, families, and neighbors about your discount offers and encourage them to jump on them before it ends.
5. Get ready for a sales rush
You’ve followed everything listed here, that means you’ve done your part. Now you relax and get yourself in the right state of mind for the rush that’s to follow.
PS: If your book is going to be on discount on Friday, November 27, leave a comment here indicating your book title(s) and the % discount, it’ll be added to our special Yellow Friday Sales tab on the OkadaBooks mobile app and (possibly) featured in our Black Friday newsletter, on the house. Happy sales day!
