Drug abuse is the existential threat of our time.

Drug abuse is a Pandemic we all must tackle from the bottom to the top.

Very difficult to eradicate making Countries to establish different Agencies to curb the menace.

Boys and Girls, Guys and Ladies, Men and Women are all users;

Very few families are lucky not to have this pandemic in their homes;

Thousands lose their lives to Drug Abuse yearly, globally.

Whether a Tablet or Syrup, Smoke or in Powdered form,

Be it Codeine syrup or Tramadol, Marijuana or Heroin, Rophynol or Cocaine,

Many go into drug use out of fear of confronting reality or misfortune.

Do not make a bad decision, influenced by friends and peer groups,

Once you start,

You’ve begun a phase of self-destructing yourself,

You are walking into a world of Hurt,

Your health begins to deteriorate rapidly without you knowing,

Your Character begins to change gradually and you push people away by your habit.

Going into drugs usage is not a solution to anything one faces,

Do not fall victim to this deadly habit,

It takes you to a bottomless pit making you a Drug addict.

Many have traveled this road and ended up in a place you can’t imagine.

Once addicted, you can do anything to get money just to buy your favorite drug,

Selling personal belongings, lying, stealing, and begging for money from loved ones just to get drugs.

Drugs usage almost destroyed the future generation of our Nation,

Drug abuse in Nigeria attracted International attention from the BBC,

Their Documentary ‘Sweet, Sweet Codeine’ got the Federal Government’s attention.

The effort of NDLEA needs further intervention from all relevant stakeholders,

The Nationwide ban by the Federal Government had an enormous impact on drug usage in the Country.

To those addicted to any form of the drug,

You can overcome the addiction,

It takes time, dedication, devotion, and abstinence.

Drug abuse in any form poses a danger to not only yourself but also the society.

It is about time you help yourself by ending your addiction.

Do not Self-destruct your life,

Do the right thing by staying away from drugs,

It is hard to overcome but you can.

Yes, you can.
