Have you ever danced in the rain?
You turned me around as we swayed,
The music was a string of melodies.
So far away, eyes locked, you nodded.
I quirked, is that a Yea or a Nay,
“A little bit of both” You responded.
We swayed till the world turned on
its axis under my feet,
And yet again, love was transforming me into a phoenix rising from the ashes.
Do you know what it means to be a volcano, bubbling hot and ready to erupt?
Would you love me with my wild feathers still?
The strength hypnotised you and you fell so fast, so deep, for me.
Would you be here with me, would you stay?
When dawn turns to dusk?
Do you just want to own me or cage me because my spirit is fierce
and comes crashing like the wild Icelandic seas?
Would you say “Why not, I can embrace your storm”,
Or would you rather find a way to tame me?
What would you do? What will you do?
If after the 12th of every month my wings start to grow fiercer,
Would you show me off to the world? Would you photograph me once more?
Would you hold me, would you try to bury my light and keep it all to yourself?
What would you do?
Would you love me or would you keep me?
Would you find new ways to own me and make me bleed?
When my sparks become blinding,
will you turn away or embrace me?
If I fly, will you take flight with me, twirl me around, and kiss me?
What would you do, when I am afraid,
when my tears turn to ashes and I cease to exist?
Will you be there when I awake, will you be there to hold me?
Will you try to understand my idiosyncrasies? Will you be plagued with worry when you realize I’m not that friendly?
Will you forgive me when I’m not at all what you expect me to be?
