Short story- How I conquered fear

I woke up one great morning, full of life and energy to start the day. I had so much desire to take the bull by the horn. At a point, I was stunned to discover that Mr Fear was standing in front of me, staring at me fiercely.

“Young man, where do think you are going?” he said, whispering in my ears.

“So Mr Fear has vocal cords,” I said in my thought.
Well, I answered and said, “I am going out to possess my possession.”

“To possess what? Your possession? How? Where?” he asked, sarcastically.

“Have you forgotten how I stopped you several years ago?”

I became bold immediately he said that. I looked straight to his eye and I said, “you can’t stop me because my time has come.”

“Have you forgotten how your father, mother, and friends tried it and failed woefully?”

“Yes. They all failed because they choose to fail but I have decided to make it.”

Mr Fear was unbending in his attempts to thwart my effort to move forward.

He said, “Young man, it is better you retreat now or else you’ll fall.”

I laughed so loudly.

“Mr Fear, I want to tell you something. Falling or failing is not defeat. It’s only a delay. If I fall, I will still rise again.”

“But you fell the last time I came to confront you, that was then but now I am ready for you.

Young man, what gives you the courage to confront me today?”

Then I boldly said, “I AM NO LONGER A SLAVE TO FEAR, I AM A CHILD OF GOD.”
