How much do you report to God?
This morning, I got into an interesting conversion with my younger brother. He told me about a friend of his that got flogged by their aunty because he called somebody a rat.
“Did you feel sorry for your friend” I inquired
” No”
“Why”?
I asked curiously
“He deserves the beating, do you know that he also called me a chicken? I didn’t fight or insult him rather I reported to my aunty” he replied defensively.
His last sentence “I reported to my aunty” ministered to me.
Years back as children, when ever someone hurts or offends us, we hurriedly reported to our parents, class teachers or any adult around us. Our class teachers most especially suffered greatly from our grievances. We could report to them a hundred times in a day.
“Mum he called me a rat”,
“Aunty, Jane is laughing at me”
“Uncle, that girl slapped me” and so on.
But after my brother made that statement, I asked myself how much do I report to God?
What do you do when you get offended? Do you consider some issues irrelevant telling God about and then seek revenge by ourselves? You think that challenge is minor so you can handle it?
1peter 5:7 says “cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you”.
The scripture said all not some so you may probably report to God but do you report all to him?
Mathew 18:3 ” unless you change and become like little children, you will never enter the kingdom of heaven”.
Some of the attributes of little children that we do not seem to emulate is “reporting it all”. We feel some things are not worth telling Him like pressures from work, heartbreaks etc
When next a child keeps on reporting to you do not get angry or scold that child rather, learn and report it all to God.
This post got me and made me look inwards at my relationship with God.
Wow! This got to me real good. Nice write-up.
