Hey guys! I don’t know about you, but I’m glad to be finally done with what can best be described as Black June. To begin the new week (and month), Life Coach and Management Consultant, Bankole Williams shared an experience which in my opinion, is perfect for Monday Motivation.

Below is his story, titled ‘Experience With Armed Robbers!’
“Some years back, during NYSC @kudo4real & I had to take a night bus for the 1st & last time. We were very skeptical about travelling but we really had to be in Lagos & I cannot remember why. We’d driven for quite a distance & my body clock had sent notifications that it was bedtime. I recall giving Kumi a few nods in my unconscious quest for a nonexistent pillow.

In my ‘haziness’, I heard loud repeated sounds that jolted me back from slumberland. ‘Had what we feared come upon us?’ I thought.
We ducked for cover as the sporadic gunshots were in our direction. Suddenly, all the lights in the bus went off & as the driver stepped on the accelerator, the bus moved slower. We were grinding to a halt.
Before we stopped, I saw fellow passengers in the bush, how they got out is still an unraveled mystery. Kumi and I hastily joined them.
Next thing, we saw headlamps proceeding in our direction. Doomsday was here. We quickly blended with nature & stood still as the light approached us & zoomed past. Phew! ? It wasn’t them.
Apparently, we were a few metres away but the robbers did not know our bus stopped. We could see them yet for some weird reason, they could not see us. Angels at work. ?After several hours, the coast was clear. The driver called for help, we got a mechanic to fix our bus & the journey to Lagos continued.
In retrospect, what still gets my attention is the fact that no one went back to Kaduna in spite of how scary the incident was. We all still got on the bus heading to our predefined destination – Lagos. So why then do we go back when we encounter mere ‘potholes’ on the pathway to our goals?
It’s halfway into the year, don’t revert to old behavior. Fix up! Make the adjustment & keep moving to your predefined destination. If you would not turn back on your journey when you travel, you should NEVER turn back on your goals.”
This new week, month and other half of 2018, don’t let anything stop you. Obstacles might come up, don’t let them stop you from achieving your goal(s), fix up and keep it moving!
