What Happened at OkadaBooks in October
We Hit ₦1,000,000 Donations
Do you remember the campaign we began in September to provide textbooks for over 10,000 primary school pupils in low-income communities? Well, thanks to everyone who donated so far, we reached a milestone of a million naira, and over 1,000 books have been donated. We currently have over 1.5 million naira donations, but there’s still a few more millions to cross, so please donate now.
Campus Writing Challenge
Submissions for the Campus Writing Challenge ended in October, and we got 1,793 from over 15 universities across Nigeria. The list of the top 150 is out; find out if you made the cut.
Began a Weekly Giveaway
We launched our weekly giveaway called the “Yellow Thursday Giveaway” and winners have been swimming in cash prizes, airtimes and branded products from our sponsors. Follow us on Instagram to participate.
Ake Festival
We attended Ake Festival, and it was epic! We have a range of the books of some of the speakers at Ake. Check them out

– A Chance Awakening by Uyu Darling Ita was downloaded about 800 times
