One of Nigeria’s top bloggers, Oluwastosin Ajibade, popularly known as Olorisupergal, recently released her book, ‘From Social Media Misfit to Social Media Hero.’ I had really looked forward to reading her book because she’s someone I admire.
I’ll stress here again, that I was never a fan of Memoirs, now, I’m totally addicted.
I expected a lot from Olori’s book, and she did not disappoint. It will interest you to know that Olorisupergal started on a free Blogger blog and till date, that blog still stands. It earned her a living and bought her first laptop and generator set.
Despite growing up in a strict home, Olori knew what she wanted and pushed for it. Of course, her passion for blogging and social media came at a later date. She had spent the early part of her entrepreneurial years trying out other business ideas like sales of foolscap sheets to her coursemates, sales of Adire, bead making, and selling of indomie noodles amongst others.
Some of her challenges included spending whole days at the cyber cafe as she didn’t start with a laptop. She only had a Nokia phone to follow up at night. See that excerpt below:
One who will be great, will be. At a point when I was reading ‘From Social Media Misfit to Social Media Hero, it felt like I was reading about myself. It does seem like we have a lot in common.
This book isn’t just a motivational book, or a how-to guide on mastering social media, or a detailed book on how to make money on the internet; it is the memoir of a person who has been able to achieve all the above through determination and passion. You will surely be entertained, educated, motivated and inspired by this book not to give up in the pursuit of your dreams and passion no matter what.
Building a business isn’t all this book is about; it actually contains a lot more. And since this review cannot contain this book’s content, you will definitely need to get a copy.
The writing is clear and easy to comprehend. The editing is superb. So yup! You’re in for a stress-free read.
