Have you ever being in love?
So deep, that even when you fell out,
somehow, your thoughts still find a way to race back.
And you feel your cheek redden
at thoughts, of her, of your adventures together.
Like the day you wanted to go to the mall
And with confidence you told the bus to stop,
At nowhere, a long distance from the mall.
And you both walked till your feet were blistered
You’ll listen to her whisper ‘baby’ in a faint voice and you’ll scold your foolishness.
You got to the mall to realize the movie you promised her was long over
And she hugged you and said, ‘a plate of rice will do, baby’.
Over the plate of rice, you both laughed at the walk and swore to use an Uber when you weren’t sure of directions.
Today, you walked by the mall, the spot you both sat, and you saw a couple laughing, and you hoped they were deeply in love.
If they weren’t, one day soon, one will walk by the mall,
just like you, to watch the spot in bittersweet reminiscence.
