Karanta Cikin Hausa - Read in English

It is often said, “look before you leap.”

The above statement is still factual.

John woke up one glorious morning. He looked around him. Lo and behold, lines are falling in pleasant places for him!

His long awaited success came in the nick of time. He received an email alert of a job interview from the dream company of his lifetime.

John screamed uncontrollably. His joy knew no bounds. He began to showcase his happiness to the world. He opened his Facebook, Twitter and Instagram account to quickly update his profile to a job he hadn’t received an official letter confirming appointment.

John dressed corporately the day he was going to receive his appointment letter. He walked majestically, singing different songs of victory as he approached the receptionist desk. His appearance was attractive and commanding.
“How may i help you?”, the receptionist asked.

“I am here to see the Managing Director.”

“Hold on sir.”

She went in to inform the Managing Director. The M.D asked him to wait for a while.

While he was waiting, the Director remembered that John’s social media status and presence needed to be scrutinized and screened.

While he was going through it, behold, the manager was dumbfounded seeing John’s status updated to the position he had yet to be offered.

He ordered John to come in.

“Mr John, you are welcome. Please, kindly have your seat.”

John sat down in eagerness to know which office he’ll immediately enter to commence work.

“Mr John, why are you faster than your shadow”?

So you mean you’re already a member of my company with an appointment and congratulatory letter?”

“Ehn… But Sir, it is Faith now and…” Mr John said, trying to explain.

“Please, be quiet. I’m not through”.

You should have been patient and thoughtful before taking this action of yours. You were too forward, full of assumption… By the way, how can I be sure of your integrity?”

“Ah! Oga, if it is integrity, I have enough of it. My integrity is very full!”, Mr John said.

“Mr John, I am sorry your offer has been revoked.”

So the accumulated days of joy turned to a nightmare due to impatience and lack of wisdom. It was like a deadly blow in the face of Mr John.

John should have been thoughtful and patient
