Karanta Cikin Hausa - Read in English

In the village of Hamona there was a mythical beast known as Jaba.

This beast was known for its strength. They say the beast Jaba had so much strength it could lift a mountain with one hand, many strong men, hunters even demons had failed to capture this beast. Jaba’s bloodlust was unlike any other creature, Jaba randomly killed people, and other creatures that stood in its path and was the more reason so many people feared Jaba.

Hamona a village known for its great hunters since the ancient times was now confronted with a creature that no hunter faced and returned alive. Gaius was a great hunter born into a family of a demon warrior who came to live in Hamona decades ago. No one knew where they came from as Hamona was a village where people were welcomed from all parts of the world. As long as you could work no one bothered to ask where you came from.

Gaius grandfather was a demon king who decided to live among men. He died seven years ago in the hands of Jaba (The Beast) before the birth of Gaius, for some reason Gaius possessed the demon powers of his grandfather.

At the age of 10, Gaius decided to be a hunter and vowed to stop the great beast Jaba. Years had passed and the beast Jaba continued to kill with no one to stop him. One day the beast attacked Hamona and killed many people including children and it also took women captive.

Those who survived the attack ran to the king.

“O great king save us from this terrible beast”

They all cried out.

“Avenge our children’’, rescue our women”.

The king was disturbed not knowing what to do since no one had faced the beast and returned alive. Therefore, the king decided to place a bounty that whoever kills the beast Jaba, great riches awaits him and his most precious jewel his daughter. The king’s daughter (Princess Lola) was as beautiful as the gods and many warriors will gladly die for her sake.

Many mighty men, hunters and even demons ventured to the mountain, there in a cave where the beast kept the women. They fought Jaba the beast with all their might but were unsuccessful, soon the villagers lost hope, and many villagers started to leave the village out of fear.

Gaius who had been longing for the perfect time to avenge his grandfather’s death decided to face the beast. Before he left, he promised the village he would return with the head of Jaba the beast and rescue the women.

When Gaius got to the cave, he found Jaba the beast waiting, suddenly he was crippled with fear seeing the beast for the first time. Gaius lost the strength to fight as Jaba viciously attacked him. Despite his incredible fighting skills, Gaius was no match for the beast. Now backed to a corner the great hunter had no means of winning, but after remembering the promise, he made to the village, and the desire to avenge the death of his grandfather, Gaius awakened the demon power within him and now fought with the beast on equal footing.

Finally, after two day of fighting Gaius killed Jaba the beast. Four days had passed and nobody had seen Gaius return from the cave, many said he had died. On the fifth day Gaius returned with the head of Jaba the beast and the women captured by the beast, everyone was amazed and they began to sing and praise Gaius the great hunter. As promised, the king gave Gaius riches far beyond his imagination and his daughter (Princess Lola) as his bride and there was peace in the land forever.
