My mom would always say
“Cynthia you see this world we live in, it’s a very cruel one and you really have to be careful.”
I thought she was just being too over protective and serious, and didn’t want me to interact with the world at large. As I recalled all she had said I couldn’t stop the tears from flowing.
“So is this how my life would just end like that? After all I had worked for?”
At this point, I needed a miracle to bail me out of this situation I was caught up in.
Few weeks ago, after closing from work, I went to the ATM to withdraw some cash since it was weekend already, while I queued up in the line waiting for my turn to make withdrawals, I heard a lady talking, to no one in particular,
“Where’s my card? Oh my God? I don’t want to believe I left it at home.”
Soon it was my turn to withdraw and she tapped me and said.
“Could you please do me a favor, I think I left my debit card at home and I’m in need of cash right now, can I please transfer the money and you just withdraw?” she pleaded.
“Hello ma’am, could you please help me withdraw since its your turn, I’m quite in a hurry please?” another fellow said.
This things people do in the ATM stand is really annoying.
After much pleading I agreed and helped them both and left. Getting close to my car to go home, I was stopped and said I was under arrest because my account was just involved in a fraudulent transaction.
Right now no one wants to believe me and think I’m not innocent. Until I produce the person who sent the money into my account to prove my innocence.
The worst of it all is that the CCTV system wasn’t in operation on the day on this transaction.
Oh, what a life!
