Mentorship means submitting yourself, career, organization, etc., under the tutelage and training of a knowledgeable and trusted personality.
It also means following and listening to someone who already knows what you want to know… A relationship between a more experienced or more knowledgeable person and a less experienced or less knowledgeable.
Proverbs 27:17
“Iron sharpeneth iron…”
The mentor may be older (Titus 2:3-4
[3]The aged women likewise, that they are in behavior as becometh holiness, not false accusers, not given to much wine, teachers of good things;
[4]That they may teach the young women to be sober, to love their husbands, to love their children”) or younger than the person being mentored but they must have a connection.
Mentorship comes with connection.
A man cannot succeed beyond his Mentorship because it involves the impartation of discoveries, experiences, knowledge, and warning.
The difference in seasons is Mentorship.
The difference in success level is Mentorship.
TIME is the price for mentorship!!
NB: MENTORSHIP is different from SPIRITUAL PARENTING (though mentoring is one of the responsibilities of a SPIRITUAL parent)
MENTORSHIP CAN BE IN DIFFERENT FORMS!
** There are people that just one contact with them they will lit your light…
Example: What happened between Hegai the king’s Chamberlain and Esther.
*** There are people that you just have to stay with for a few months.. for a particular season.
*** There are people you need to serve under like for years before you could connect to what they have/carry.
In this case, it’s because God wants you to build with them because you are called to them.
Example: Elisha was prepared for his Prophetic ministry through his close relationship with Prophet Elijah … 1 king 19!
