Like a flower filled with nectar,
Like a bee you caught my attention.
Your voice soft and warm,
infused in me a deep sensation.
I have known so many women whose shadows
have been swallowed by my mind’s darkness.
My heart longed to have you next to me,
but your friends were closer than my heart was.
Like an encroaching desert, every grain of
their advice tried to make me love you less.
Uncertainty hung around like a fog over us.
I wish the signs you showed me were as
glaring as a lamp in a dark room.
Well, perhaps all good relationships end like the Titanic in an icy doom.
If you feel love why hide behind the mask of being a friend?
If we are meant to be one, why succumb to being two?
I want to say goodbye, but I reminisce the beautiful lady
on the beach, sitting alone and staring at the waves.
Do you remember the footprints that ended beside a seat?
Are they still imprinted there or washed away by the ever moving waves of time?
I will move on and hope;
Like me, you will too.
