Write The Future – OkadaBooks recently partnered with Teach For Nigeria (TFN) to distribute original storybooks -sponsored by the Dubai Cares initiative- to primary school Learners around Ogun State, Nigeria.
Remember how a while back we announced we received a $20,000 publishing fund from our friends at the IPA and Dubai Cares? That seed has borne a tree now called The Write The Future project, officially commissioned at Abeokuta on Thursday, November 4, 2021. 🥳
We and our friends at TFN spent the day with the bubbly Learners of Our Lady of Apostles Nursery & Primary School, Abeokuta to read some of the interesting stories penned down by some really amazing authors, and it was a beautiful experience.
Watch the highlights of our day HERE.
More details about the project will be flooding our Instagram timeline soon. Click HERE to follow us and turn on notifications for our posts so you don’t miss a thing. 😊💛💛💛
The Write The Future project has developed a digital collection of 8 powerful titles to reach over 25,000 students and teachers in low-income communities across Nigeria. With this project, OkadaBooks hopes to leverage mobile technology and literature to tackle illiteracy, while simultaneously addressing gender stereotypes, ethnic unity, and environmental love.
The Abeokuta launch is just one step, the storybooks will get to all 700 TFN Fellows and their combined > 20,000 Learners’ classrooms across the country and will be used to help fight illiteracy from the grassroots. See the aims of the project HERE.
